New Book by Nancy Rauch Douzinas
New Ways of Working Together: A Role for Philanthropy will launch November 3 and tells the family history behind the Foundation and how the values and strategies honed in the family's successful business ventures informed the Foundation's collaborative, cross-sector philanthropy.
We face a potentially cataclysmic shift away from government financial support for non-profits across a spectrum of programmatic areas: science, medicine, education, transportation, agriculture, the environment, and the arts. Philanthropy as traditionally practiced cannot close the funding gap and those in a position to give need new ways to operate in a dramatically different ecosystem.
The book profiles numerous individuals over the years whose backgrounds, expertise, and passion contributed to the Rauch Foundation's breakthrough successes. These profiles suggest the diversity and availability of the sort of non-traditional actors foundations should be recruiting to enhance their capacity for affecting meaningful change.
